About the Artist
Hey, I’m Georgina, a UK-based artist with a lifelong love of colour, detail and expressive subjects.
I founded my art business, Not A Blank Canvas, towards the end of 2024 whilst on maternity leave following the birth of my daughter.
My work blends realism with bold, vibrant palettes — capturing not just how something looks, but how it feels. I’m fascinated by the energy of colour and the way it can completely transform the atmosphere of a space.
After over a decade pursuing a "proper job" in teaching, I returned to my artwork with a renewed focus: to create pieces that make people smile. Art that feels joyful, confident and alive.
Birds became a natural subject for this collection. Their personalities are as vivid as their plumage — curious, playful, unapologetically bold. Painting them allows me to combine intricate detail with expressive colour and texture, building layers with acrylics and palette knives to create depth and movement.
Every piece I create is designed with one intention:
To make you smile and spark joy in your day.
To bring a playful, quirky personality into your space.
To remind you that art doesn’t have to be serious to be meaningful.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m usually juggling life as a mum while building this business from the ground up — one joyful piece at a time.
